Dickens was a seedy late-night watering hole frequented by cross-dressers, queers and posties. The owners inspected you through a hatch before you could gain entrance. Theres a lot going on in this one. I love the contrast between figures in the forefront that playful over-the-shoulder glance versus the disapproving stare.
